DGS Scholarship

The Danvers Girls Softball philosophy is that the individual considered for the award be one who has a love of softball while also displaying good sportsmanship and teamwork.

A selection committee, appointed by the president of Danvers Girls Softball, will assume the task of deciding who best represents the values and goals of Danvers Girls Softball. This committee may not include any member who has a child or relative who could be considered a potential recipient that year.

The DGS Scholarship will be awarded annually to one or more applicants who will be chosen from those who meet the criteria and correctly complete the attached application form in its entirety. The total amount awarded annually may be divided amongst multiple winners.

The total amount will be $2000.00.

Criteria:
This scholarship is available to all high school seniors who are continuing their education and have participated in Danvers Girls Softball for a minimum of six (6) years. Additional consideration will be given to girls that played DGS during high school.
Applicants will be judged on the following criteria:
- Years of participation in DGS
- Two letters of recommendation, one from a current or former DGS coach and one from a teacher, coach or guidance counselor
- Response to the application questions
- Your essay

*Applications disqualified if any of the above criteria is missing. Applications are due by May 1st. Selections are made at the end of May.
